Analysis of logistics processes
We analysed how companies calculate in-house delivery costs, plan routes, manage vehicles, and find external carriers.

A platform for delivery management and en-route cargo matching

When arranging a delivery, companies spend significant time calculating costs, selecting a suitable vehicle, planning the optimal route, and finding a carrier. These processes are often handled manually across different systems, slowing operations and making it harder to choose the most cost-effective option.

We analysed how companies calculate in-house delivery costs, plan routes, manage vehicles, and find external carriers.

We designed the cost calculation, vehicle selection, capacity control, route planning, and delivery tracking workflows.

We brought the shipment, goods, vehicle, driver, route, documents, statuses, and financial data into a single delivery record.

We added carrier registration, vehicles, routes, and available capacity so companies could receive external delivery offers in parallel.

We combined in-house delivery and the carrier marketplace into one MVP that compares cost, route, timing, and vehicle capacity to select the best delivery option.

Shipping cost calculationThe system calculates delivery costs based on distance, fuel, driver fees, vehicle depreciation, waiting time, tolls, weight, volume, lifting, carrying, and assembly.
Route planning and optimizationOwnDelivery uses Google Maps to build routes, calculate distance and time, account for delivery windows, and optimise the order of stops.
Vehicle fleet and cargo specificationsCompanies and carriers add vehicles with payload capacity, internal dimensions, and usable volume. Goods are stored with their weight, dimensions, and transport requirements.
Freight and Carrier ExchangeA company can publish a shipment on the platform and receive offers from registered carriers travelling in the required direction.
Selection and comparison of optionsThe system matches routes, timing, weight, dimensions, and available vehicle capacity, then compares in-house delivery with carrier offers.
Delivery monitoring and trackingThe logistics manager monitors routes and statuses, the driver works through a mobile web portal, and the customer sees the vehicle location and estimated arrival time.
Integrations and AnalyticsOwnDelivery integrates with CRM systems through APIs and webhooks, sends SMS and email notifications, stores documents, photos, and customer signatures, and reports delivery profitability.
OwnDelivery is built as a modular SaaS platform with a unified database for orders, shipments, vehicles, routes, carriers, and delivery statuses. The system automates calculations, matches cargo with suitable transport, builds routes, and synchronises data with external services.

The video explains why OwnDelivery was created, which delivery challenges it solves, and who can benefit from the platform. It is designed for companies with in-house delivery operations, manufacturers, online stores, logistics teams, and carriers looking for en-route cargo and better use of available vehicle capacity.
